Farasis Energy: ultra-fast battery for electric cars with 10-minute charging

Farasis Energy has developed a new technology that enables ultra-fast charging for electric vehicles at a 6C rate. This means the battery can be fully charged in just 10 minutes, equivalent to one-sixth of an hour. The technology uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries for 6C charging, while lithium ternary batteries are used for 5C charging. Additionally, the optimized SPS (Super Pouch Solution) system significantly enhances heat dissipation, making these innovations feasible. Farasis has introduced an innovative design for its electric vehicle batteries, effectively addressing heat dissipation issues during fast charging. By using ROM optimization models and fast-charging technologies, both 5C lithium ternary batteries and 6C LFP batteries can maintain temperatures below 50°C even during high-speed charging. With the adoption of ultra-fast charging at 30°C, Farasis Energy has significantly reduced charging times: from 10% to 80% SOC, the charging time for ternary batteries was reduced by 13.5%, while for LFP batteries, it decreased by 16.8%. The ROM model used by the company allows for optimized battery design, improving key parameters and enhancing both efficiency and performance. Additionally, the ROM model completes the analysis in just 10 seconds, a significantly shorter time compared to the 8-10 hours required by traditional simulation software. With a market share of 0.48%, Farasis is one of the leading battery manufacturers in China.
