Chief Development, Operations & Technology Officer di Eni S.p.A. dal 1° luglio 2014, Roberto Casula ha alle spalle una carriera trentennale nel settore energetico. Laureatosi in Ingegneria Mineraria presso l’Università di Cagliari, comincia il suo percorso professionale nel 1988, anno in cui viene assunto da Agip come Reservoir Engineer. Dopo le prime esperienze nei campi petroliferi italiani, nel 1992 si trasferisce in Africa Occidentale assumendo la posizione di Chief Development Engineer. Il 1997 segna il suo ritorno in patria in qualità di Coordinatore Tecnico delle Attività di Business Development, un incarico che lo porta a occuparsi di numerose iniziative negoziali e attività di portfolio. Dopo una breve esperienza come Manager per Servizi Tecnici di Progetto, nel 2001 Roberto Casula va nuovamente all’estero, in Iran, assumendo la carica di Direttore del progetto giant South Pars Gas 4-5. Divenuto Chief Executive Officer di Eni Mediterranea Idrocarburi S.p.A., alla fine del 2005 viene nominato Managing Director delle attività di Eni in Libia, dove rinegozia i contratti petroliferi e avvia un significativo programma di progetti sociali. Nell’ottobre del 2007 assume la carica di Senior Vice President, divenendo responsabile delle attività operative e di business nell’Africa Sub-Sahariana. Prima di arrivare a ricoprire l’incarico di Chief Development, Operations & Technology Officer, dal 2011 al 2014 Roberto Casula è stato Executive Vice President per la Divisione Expoloration & Production, un ruolo che lo ha portato ad ampliare le sue competenze e la conoscenza dell’Africa e del Medio Oriente, in particolare con la realizzazione di un piano per lo sviluppo del Mozambico.

Chief Development, Operations & Technology Officer of Eni S.p.A. from 1 July 2014, Roberto Casula has a thirty-year career in the energy sector. Graduated in Mining Engineering at the University of Cagliari, he began his professional career in 1988, when he joined Agip as a Reservoir Engineer. After the first experiences in the Italian oil fields, in 1992 he moved to West Africa taking on the position of Chief Development Engineer. In 1997 he returned to his homeland as Technical Coordinator of Business Development Activities, a role that led him to deal with several negotiations and portfolio activities. After a brief experience as Manager for Technical Project Services, in 2001 Roberto Casula moved to Iran, as designated Director of the giant South Pars Gas Project (step 4-5). Having become Chief Executive Officer of Eni Mediterranea Idrocarburi SpA, at the end of 2005 he was appointed Managing Director of Eni’s activities in Libya, where he renegotiated oil contracts and launched a significant program of social operations. In October 2007 takes on the role of Senior Vice President, becoming responsible for the operational and business activities in Sub-Saharan Africa. Before the current position of Chief Development, Operations & Technology Officer, Roberto Casula was Executive Vice President for the Expoloration & Production Division from 2011 to 2014, a role that allowed him to expand his skills and knowledge of the Africa and the Middle East, in particular with the implementation of a plan for the development of Mozambique.
